The Center for Applied Cognitive Studies provides online SchoolPlace Big Five Profile assessments to independent consultants and schools. Various reports with the results of the analyzed data are available (see catalog).
The SchoolPlace Big Five Profile 2.0™ is a personality assessment based on the Five-Factor Model of Personality, the current standard for psychologists worldwide. The variables on SchoolPlace reports are interchangeable with WorkPlace, but the terminology is chosen specifically for students ages 12 to 22 in secondary and higher education.

Organizations use SchoolPlace to hire students joining the working world directly from an educational setting. With only 134 questions on the Long Form and 48 questions on the Short Form, students find the online or paper test administration easy to complete.

SchoolPlace is a normative test, and was normed on 12 to 22 year old students from both public and private high schools and universities. The test’s average coefficient alpha of .81 is among the highest for assessments of similar length and scope.

Using the WorkPlace Big Five Profile (parallel instrument to SchoolPlace), hiring organizations first determine a job-specific target profile, then use SchoolPlace to assess student candidates against the target profile. This is effective because SchoolPlace uses language and questions far more familiar to a student than work-related questions. SchoolPlace is a crucial step in the selection process, along with critical behavioral interviewing, reference checking, and IQ testing.
