Jane Mitchell Howard serves as the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies’ senior consultant and trainer, working directly with clients worldwide on Organization Development, Leadership Training, Validity Studies, and Team building. Since co-founding the company in 1986 with Pierce J. Howard, PhD, Ms. Howard now oversees consulting and program development, developing materials and training others to apply the Five-Factor Model of Personality, related competencies, and business reports to the world of work. She has worked with clients in a wide range of industries and has led consulting and given presentations throughout the United States and in Europe, Asia, Central America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa.
Co-author of The Owner’s Manual for the Personality at Work (2001) with Pierce J. Howard, PhD, together, they have developed the WorkPlace Big Five Profile and the SchoolPlace Big Five Profile, published numerous trade journal articles, created and taught certification programs, designed workbooks, written scripts, and developed supportive materials for both assessments. Ms. Howard earned an M.B.A. from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University and a B.A. in education from the University of Montevallo.
Ms. Howard has served as both President of the Charlotte chapter and 5-state Regional Director of the American Society for Training and Development. She received the Charlotte chapter’s annual Excellence in Service to the Community Award in 1993, and the National Women’s Network Professional Development Leadership Award in 1995. Ms. Howard is a member of the National Organization Development Network, currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Carolinas Organization Development Network, and teaches in the Certification Program in Organization Development at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
